Last night we went over to Richard and Lisa’s house for a barbeque. Right before we left, Lisa discovered that her almost 2 year old daughter Maylee had a bead stuck up her nose. It was quite amusing to watch the whole family team up to get the bead out. Cousin Savannah was thinking of every bribe in the book, Darron and Richard tried using the vacuum, I was on the internet Googeling “How to get bead out of childs nose”. And about 6 others cheering Maylee on, and holding her down while we attached the vacuum to her nose. Nothing worked. We all left and hoping that something would happen. This morning we found out that Maylee was waking up all night complaining about her nose hurting. Finally at 5 a.m. Lisa woke Richard up and asked him to give her a blessing. At about 5:30 she sneezed 3 times and a scrapbooking eyelet came shooting out.
That's a neat story. My sister apparently was bad about getting Play Doh up her nose as a kid, which seems like an even worse thing to deal with removing. One of the funnier House episodes ever was about a little kid who got several items stuck in his nose, and when they were all removed you could see the first was a cat, the second a fireman, and so on, each one being something you might imagine sending after a lost cat.
ReplyDeleteWow, I hope she is ok. Sounds like you guys had a pretty tramatic ordeal. I remember when Aspen swallowed a hair clip. She was almost 2.
