Darron's Soccer Game

Ashlee has the BIGGEST imagination. She could sit and play with her toy dogs for hours.

Darron "gearing up" for his game. They won today 10-6. Darron got a goal! These games are a blast to watch.

Lately, this is what I get when I a take picture of Zachary.

The kids love in when there cousin Porter comes over. They had fun playing hide and seek, horses, and playing with the balls. They took a break for apples and gram crackers. I can't believe how fast this cutie is growing up.
Zachary was so proud that he did this one with on instructions or help from mom. Good job Zachary!

Last night we went to Red Robin for dinner. Ashlee blinked on her first shot so this is what I got on the second....

Pregnancy Update

Fist of all, let me just say that I am so thankful and blessed to be pregnant. We tried for 3 years to get Ashlee and with this one it took us about a year and a half. It seems like every time I come to the realization that I just can’t get pregnant, and I’m ok with that concept (at the time) I get pregnant. When I found out I was pregnant with this one we were so surprised. Darron will tell you that I am the most inpatient person in the world. I want to get pregnant when I want to and I want to deliver when I want to. But we all know it doesn’t work that way. I have had my heart set for the last few months that I will be delivering next week. I was shooting for January 27th (27 is my lucky number), but Dr. Nance only induces on Thursday’s which is on the 29th. I am ok with the 29th, but PLEASE don’t make me go another day after! This week at my weekly exam I asked him if we are still shooting for the 29th. The look on his face told me I am in it for the long haul. He told me that that I was dilated to a certain number and effaced, that then maybe he would induce me. I told him that my body doesn’t know how to do all that. He thought I was joking, so he just smiled. He told me that one of his patients is going to deliver today and her due date was a week and a half before. So I think I am going to be pregnant for at least another year. I have another appointment on Tuesday so I’ll let you know if my body found out how to do have a baby. I can’t believe some ladies LOVE to be pregnant.

Oh! We do have a name picked out, but we can’t think of a middle name still. We are pretty sure we will name her Michelle. Of course we could change our minds when we meet her. Please advise if you have a great middle name that would go with Michelle.

Last FHE

Look who showed up for Family Home Evening last Monday. Lucy from Narnia and Spider-Man!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Darron made a track in the snow with the 4wheelers and then let the kids ride them around. I know it looks dangerous, but they were putting pretty slow. After we let them ride around in circles for awhile we took them for a ride up behind our house. I would like to say that it put me into labor... but I'm still here.

Puzzle Time

One of Ashlee's Christmas presents this year was a huge puzzle of the world. It was a great family project for all of us. It took us 5 days to finish it. And I can't believe that we put it away after all that hard work.

UPDATED!

I haven't been good at keeping updated on this, but I am going to better now. My picture taking has been at a slow too. But for the update on us....

We are all doing well and healthy. We had a great holiday season and spent time with family, which is are most favorite thing to do. Darron has taken up indoor soccer. He is on two soccer teams now. One of the teams is with his brothers that live close. They play on Saturday's and it has been fun to cheer them on on the stands. Mickey defiantly wins the cheering award. None of them have had bad injuries yet, but I think they are finding out that their 30's body is a lot different from their 20's body. They had a slow start, but now they look like a real soccer team. And they are winning! I will take my camera next time and try to post some pictures. He has really enjoyed getting to know everyone in our ward better. Every Sunday he comes home from his meeting and mentions how great our youth are or how giving everyone is in our ward.

I feel like I am going to pop any second. And my belly button is almost completely gone now. The kids are at counting down the days to meet their new baby sister. They have been dressing up there stuffed animals including diapers sometimes and pretending be the mom or the dad. I have purchased all my new work out clothes and work out tapes to get back in shape. Has anyone tried "The Biggest Loser" work outs? I'll let you know how they go. My goal is to get on a soccer team this season and not look like a complete idiot.

Well, I'm off to take more pictures. The kids and Darron are up on the mountain behind the house playing in the snow. Maybe if I get on the 4 wheeler it will help this delivery speed up a little more.

Scraping the Walks

I LOVE mornings like this. This was taken about two weeks ago when we had a huge storm hit us. I love waking up to all the mountains and the orchards around us covered in white. Darron loves the view, but is checking the classifieds for a great deal on a snow blower. We still have about the same amount of snow. We went up to Draper last Friday for the Draper Temple open house and I couldn't believe they didn't have any snow up there.

I can't believe I am putting this picture up. But I just wanted to let you know that we were up at 3AM in on Christmas morning this year. The kids kept asking when the sun was going to come up. Not for 5 more hours!

LUKE 2

Mary and Joseph. They came up with their costumes and props with no help from mom. I thought it was cute that they ever found all the animals that would be appropriate for the skit. Then they put on the play for mom and dad.

(Hey Melissa and Amber...do you reconize that quilt?)

Manger Scene with homade stable

I found this at Sam's for $6. I thought it would be a good one for the kids to play with. Ashlee thought it was needed a stable so she made one out cardboard.

Gingerbread Houses with Aunt Lisa!

Every year we make grandkids make gingerbread houses at Aunt Lisa's house. Her and Richard are so sweet to provide all the houses and treats for the kids to go to town. Ashlee and Zachary look forward to this every year. Thanks Lisa!

Thanksgiving 2008

My brother Paul came home from the Grand Canyon for Thanksgiving this year.
Grandma Ekins came to share the day with us. I love my grandma! You would not believe what this awesome woman can do. Starting with bailing hay with her 4 boys every season, and taking care of a farm. But at the same time she is a very classy lady. I love to hear about her childhood and how the first time she met Grandpa is when she was going to college and BYU, grandpa pulled up horse drawn sled to ask her and her sister for a ride.

We all still haven't gotten off the "kid table" yet.

Empty Boxes and Puppet Shows

We have a huge supply of empty boxes in our basement that we are constantly trying to compact into our garbage can every garbage day. The kids love it. And I love that they have a great imagination. They love to make huts out of them. They made there own puppet show with all the props: people, sun, moon, grass, and the works.

Proud Z

Zachary is so proud of himself for being able to build stuff with his Lincoln Logs all by his self. I'm proud of him too! He deffinatley gets that from his dad.

Halloween Cookies

Decorating cookies for Halloween. This has been one of traditions on Halloween. The kids make the biggest mess, but they LOVE it. After they decorated them they had fun running them around the neighborhood to give to their friends.

Super Sube is down the road!

We sold the Super Sube a few months ago. It has been with us for a while. We bought it down in Florida when we lived in Georgia. It was a good car for the time. We pulled it behind the truck with our bright yellow canoe on top all the way accross the country. We got a great deal on our Toyota Sienna that we couldn’t pass up. And for the record I LOVE my mini van.
